The majority of students who ultimately become TPG trainees enter through the Molecular Cell Biology, Genetics & Development (MCGD) track of the Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) program. Others enter through the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB) program.
Most students join their Ph.D. lab by the end of the first year, at which point the Directors (Valerie Reinke and John Carlson) identify students with a strong genetics component to their research, and opens applications to those students.
